Great Blasket Island, Dingle Peninsula

The club and friends visited the Great Blasket Island, a island just outside Dunquin on the Dingle Peninsula. The people who lived on the island had to leave in 1953 as the state could not guarantee the safety of the remaining populatian. There are several books about the life on the island, most famous Peig Sayers "An old woman`s reflection`s"
When we arrived in the morning the beach was populated by a couple hundred seals.
