Tallest Standing Stone in Kerry again

To give you an idea how big that standing stone is here comes Michael, enjoying the blackberries more than taking pictures, well, the light was not great but that did not seem to affect the following detail shots around that stone.

Clouds everywhere

Part of the attraction of beeing down here is the everchanging light situation and interesting cloud formations building up around you...

Ballinskelligs Abbey, Window Details

During the last Camera Club outing James Grandfield took these black and white shots of details in the ruins of the Abbey.
Restoration work has been going on there for quite some time now, so an overall picture would show scaffolding or other building stuff.

The Highest Standing Stone in Co. Kerry

This standing stone is the tallest in Co. Kerry with more than 4 metres in hight.
It is situated in Doory, Dromid, and can actually be seen from the road- when you know what you are looking for...

Some 200 metres west of that Standing Stone is this Stone Row with two big and two small stones. They seem to be lined up and pointing towards Ballinskelligs Bay.

Both sites are mentioned in in Sheehan and O' Sullivan's "Archaeology of South Kerry".

We went there last Sunday afternoon, the light was not too exciting (need to go back there in the evening), anyway, I played around with a few presets in lightroom to give the stones a bit of the drama I think they deserve...
