Port Magee

After a long pause, the Camera Club came together again for taking photos. A bitterly cold wind from North at Port Magee, County Kerry made the first outing of this year a little bit of a challenge.

Walking the Dog along the Cliffs of Valentia Island

Today I used a few hours of sunshine to walk the dog along the Cliffs on the Western part of Valentia Island. Unfortunately I took only the digicam with me which had obviously a bit of problems to cope with the dramatic however difficult light situation. Nevertheless I think some of the images do capture the beauty of the sun mixing with the stormy waters and the drifting spray.

Old Tree Stumps emerging from the Sand on Reenroe Beach

Having repaired the roofs again after the recent hurricane we decided today to make use of the sunny and warm spring type weather to drive down to Reenroe Beach  to give the dog a run and to take some shots of the ancient tree stumps before they will be covered  by the sand once more.

Last Day of 2013 on the Port Magee Channel

A series of gales during the last couple of days created together with a bit of sunshine a nice view on the breakers thundering against the rocks of the Port Magee Channel entrance.

Sunset over the Blowhole at Canglass Point

It took about 40 minutes walk in Mediterranean evening warmth to reach the location of our photo shooting, but the reward to see that glorious sunset over the Blaskets was worth every single drop of sweat.
