Sea Shell

Two old and damaged sea shells, collected years ago, inspired me on a rainy day to play around with a flashlight and red and yellow plastic film to create various light and shadow effects.
Pictures taken with Olympus E-5 on Gorilla flexible tripod, Zuiko Digital 50mm 1:2 Macro, some shots also with retro adapter.

Paul

Had Michael helping with these shots

Used a 100mm lens with a closed aperture

All photos were taken at the northerly coast of Valentia Island, near Bray Head, with a Cannon 450D. This is a dangerous spot and saftey should be a priority when on the cliffs.

A Summer of rain in Kerry

We have not seen rain like this in years and it is not good for the farmers and there crops. However when picking the cabbage in the garden couldn't help going for the camera as the rain droplets looked like diamonds.Yip-dinner ran a bit late that evening....
All shot with cannon 450D using a screw on macro lens with an 18-55. Av- F.22 or F.25 for most.
Rain is all around us so we got to make the most of it.....Following shots were taken from blades of grass.

Calla (Bog Arum, Marsh Calla)

The Calla lives during the summer in our pond and in the wintertime in a water filled bucket in the greenhouse. In the latter one I took the opportunity to experiment a little bit with close up shots, using also an offset remote controlled flash with various colored filter screens and a diffuser. Pictures taken with Olympus E520, Zuiko Digital 14-54, FS-FL36R and Tripod.
