Forty two years of growth.......

Forestry set  forty two years {I think} ago and now gone for the chop. We will miss the echo shouts and hidding between the trees. It was always a good place for our Easter egg hunt but now stands bare. Will we see the next growth ?????????????? Cloughane Caharn, aughatubrid.

My Winning photo

This is my photo that was lucky enough to win the "Say Cheese Photographers" Facebook photo competition. The competition was decided by the photo that gets the greatest number of likes registered by viewers. A total of 116 entries from all areas of the globe, made up the competition, so I am so pleased that my photo was voted the best amoungst some fantastic photos. My thanks go to all of you that voted for my photo, and it is gratifying that the photo to win, came from a member of the "South Kerry Camera Club"

Winter Solstice in Eightercua, Waterville

For the first time since we have been living here we went to see the sun go down on the shortest day in the year. The place to go to for sunset on Winter Solstice is Eightercua near Waterville. The ancient Stone row here leads towards the spot where the sun is setting, which I thought would be into the sea, but she rolled slowly down I think Hogshead, and a beautiful sight it was...
I feel spring coming already, the days will be getting longer anyway...
But before that A Happy Christmas to you all!!!
